​Student Services Department

Students supported by the Student Services Department;

  • have been identified through a formal Identification Placement Review Committee meeting (IPRC); or  
  • are in the process of having assessments completed based on the decision of an In-School Team Meeting (ISTM)

 

Students are supported by a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT)

The role of the SERT is to;

  • Guide student in understanding their identification
  • Help students communicate and advocate for accommodations
  • Create and update Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Communicate information to students, parents and teachers
  • Monitor student’s progress in all classes
  • Support with pathways and course selection
  • Support with well-being
